I was wondering about asian greens , Choy Sum , Bok Choy or Gai Lan . I assume they are ok , but they dont seem to appear in most the guides ? Can't wait to try that paleo cake , chocolate flavour would be nice .
Calen's Tip 11. Record your mood when you record each meal. I have a system of smiley faces ranging from happy to sad. It's good to look back on how the food impacted on your mood whether it made it better or worse.
wondering if Vanilla bean pods are ok to cook with...trying to get a littlke creative with a paleo approved desert .
as day 3 starts am starting to feel a little more convinced that paleo diet is a good thing, caffine withdrawals are starting to taper of and sweet tooth kicking in to compensate.
any ideas on quick sweetish snacks other thst dried fruits?
calen - i like that idea..... could also extend that to sleep and workout results...
carla - non-dried fruit... =P
over the weekend, I am trying a broccoli and cauliflower soup on Sat (thanks to Shalon), beef and turkey rissoles with fresh veg recipe on sat/sun and some sort of snack recipe on sun.. this could be fun and interesting :)
By the way, you guys are killing me putting up all these recipes with tomatoes in them when i'm not eating them.. :(
Oo cake recipe i will give a shot! today i feel a lot better, gym tomorrow will be a good teller of how i can perform like this.
Proud of all of you doing full paleo! I am including a few things like green beans, chickpeas, peas and a little sweet potato because i found full paleo last time quite a shock to my body and there are a few vegies and fruits i can't eat. I had a serious dairy and wheat habit though (and i am actually intolerant to both!) so am hoping this month can teach me i can live without and perhaps show me how not eating things harmful for me will improve my sleep, workouts and well being. My intention is to keep the wheat and dairy out after the 30 days and only bring back rice.
Good luck on the weekend all! I am looking forward to having time to prepare the food i need rather than the running about this week haha
p.s. Kay, the site you posted the other day with the paleo nutella is amazing, thank you!
When will this headache end!!!
No posting baking recipes - I am doing the purist form of paleo I can. SO STOP ALREADY its only day three!!!!!
you could always put the mushies under a grill instead Belle
I'm with you Belle - and can we please have a recipe without tomatoes soon :)
Cravings - I think I am starting to get to the stage where I don't physically want to kill anyone who is eating chocolate in front of me.......now I just want to injure them severely. I'd call that progress!
That is definately progress Claire... Going to do the lamb it will last me a week though (I not a big fan of fungus Kay)
Now if we are being purist no tomato, no sweet potato, no baking, no deli meats, can i do tin tuna.... lugging a whole fish to work on the train might be funny but not really an option... what other iffy things are we banning.
wow you girls are going with no baking, good on you, that would be way too far for me.. I'm sticking with the heating/cooking/baking and just focusing on the foods i'm eating and drinks i'm drinking (umm, only water though so not much to focus on :P )
im going with paleo with no nightshades at the moment and seeing how it goes but no eggplant and no tomato is killing me coz they are huge paleo foods for me :(
Belle, the nightshade research I have done adds the following to your list: eggplants, sweet and hot peppers (ie capsicum and chillis) and some sites are saying goji berries and gooseberries too.....not sure about the berries. And also tobacco is a nightshade - so no smoking people bahaha

Hey Carla
for the sweat tooth, try blending some banana , shredded coconut and cinnamon and freezing then eating like icecream, it's not bad
Two words people.... almond milk!
Just discovered it today at the freo markets. Good for those of us craving a hot milk drink like I was. I had it with chai spice mix - my own paleo chai latte! You can make it yourself really easily (just almonds and water). I'm dying to try it with cacao powder - paleo hot chocolate anyone!
