Tested some raw root veggies post "Amanda" today. Carrots and surprisingly turnips are pretty good to eat raw, beetroot and swede are ok but very boring after the first two bites.

Did my first Paleo shopping trip. Thanks to the people that suggested Gilberts Fresh Food at Southlands. I stocked up on all kinds of fruit and vege's I've never heard of (including some weird fruit called a Custard Apple). The chocolate next to the checkouts never looked so good but I refused temptation and left them on their evil little shelf to taunt someone else. REALLY missing bread so far. Hoping the cravings ease up soon.
Keep strong everyone!!!

All the people at my work think I am running a fruit and veg shop from my desk :P

why is it that the first day of trying paleo is the day when you NEED wine or NEED chocolate.. My day started badly with issues and has not improved in the slightest.. :( grrr..

heh Claire wait until you are getting disapproving looks whilst eating meat at breakfast time :)

I wasn't there last night so not sure if someone suggested this website - everydaypaleo.com (sorry if they did!) -- some really good ideas and its written by one of the trainers from Robb Wolf's gym

for those looking for a healthy paleo snack, IGA around the corner from the box is selling 500g almond bags for $4 which is a really good price. Also eye fillet steak there is $16/kg and chicken breast $8/kg. These aren't grass fed or organic but they are cheap. Also the dry roasted almonds from gilberts at southlands are delicious!

Claire F I know the feeling with the fruit veg shop. I usually have a monster pile of stuff fruit and a kilo of carrots each day. Only functional purpose for my work backpack is food!

Oh and steak for breakfast rules supreme!!
