I CrossFit because.....

it's the shit! I love the competition side of CrossFit but even if i didn't i would still CrossFit purely out of the enjoyment i get from training and keeping active, fit and healthy

I coach because....

There is nothing more enjoyable than teaching people new skills or giving them that one little piece they needed to connect the dots and finally have the light bulb go off.

My favorite cheat meal is....

Paleo...... not, just joking. Pizza fo sure!

My first CrossFit workout was....

Fran, in an old Zest gym in 2007 after my second knee reconstruction. Had to do the thrusters in a squat rack because i couldn't clean the bar up off the ground and there was about a 20m walk to the only pull-up station which i then had to do single reps... it was probably a 20min workout at least!

My favorite thing about Southern CrossFit is....

Every day is a new challenge and literally anybody can do it! From the games competitors like Rich Fronning or Chad Mackay right down to Mum's & Dad's, kids, school teachers, doctors, lawyers, anyone!

My favorite thing about being a coach at Southern CrossFit is....

I don't know of how many gyms out there, especially CrossFit gyms get to do this (coach CrossFit) full time with as many different full time coaches as we have here at Southern CrossFit. This is not a hobby for us, it's all we do, coach. This is not a part time gig and we take it very serious and i think that shows threw our performance at competitions and our community which is full of wonderful people.

Build a solid foundation! Listen to the coach! Consistency!
Be humble and not afraid to get whooped by a workout, that's why we're here.
